What the holiday are really about…

Childhaven & Bodytonic Pilates

Childhaven‘s programs are designed to help abused, neglected and at-risk children form healthy emotional attachments, learn to know and trust adults and develop interactive skills necessary to form other secure relationships. Many of Childhaven’s children have experienced neglect or abuse due in large part to their parents’ untreated substance abuse, mental illness or abuse and neglect they experienced as a child.

Childhaven’s four branch centers provide therapeutic child care and earlyhood education to babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Each branch offers health screening, two balanced meals per day and a snack, outdoor and indoor play areas, door-to-door transportation, monthly home visits and daily home monitoring. And, they work with parents to help them gain the skills and confidence they need to raise happy, healthy children.

A Giving Tree...

Every year 500 children come through Childhaven’s doors needing very specialized care to help them overcome the trauma of a life of abuse and neglect. For many of those kids, Childhaven is the only place where they’ve known unconditional love.

This season Bodytonic is hosting a Childhaven Giving Tree. The giving tree has ornaments that are assigned to children and parents who receive support at Childhaven. The ornaments are listed with items they want or need, the pinks are for girls and the blues for boys. Please help us support children and parents in need this season!

Choose an ornament and pick an item listed on it and return it unwrapped with ornament/tag attached to Bodytonic by December 15th.

This has been a hard year for so many people, help make our world a brighter place by spreading kindness & compassion!

Kaylee is 23 months old and needs a coat to stay warm this winter.

Angela a mother to one of the kids at Childhaven is 26 years old and asked for a grocery card.

Michael is 2.5 years old and asked for a toy car or truck for Christmas

Jeffrey a 13 year old big brother to a Childhaven kid asked for a fishing pole or new shoes.

Kaylee, Angela, Michael, and Jeffrey are all assigned to ornaments on the Giving Tree at Bodytonic. One of the greatest things about Childhaven is that not only do they look after the Children who are referred to them, but they also put a lot of energy into supporting those Children’s families as a whole. They are truly a heart warming agency. Save your lunch money for a week and bring in a sack lunch instead. Not only will you be supporting your own health but you can use that spare change to buy cute little 2 year old Kaylee the winter coat she needs to stay warm this year.

Please pick an ornament the next time you are in studio.
Gift are due by next Tuesday – December 15th.
And thank you so much to everyone who already picked up one!!
